The Master Bedroom

We first painted the bedroom in Wild Manzanita, a dark reddish brown color. We really liked how it allowed the blue to really pop. However, I never really felt it was ever really complete. The placement of the furniture and some of the blank wall space always bothered me.

Because of the dark color I thought that this was the room we should probably start with. We decided to use a tan that we knew we liked and we knew would look good against our honey oak molding. The color is called Latte from Sherwin Williams. Our office, hallway, and hall bath is painted in the same color. Since our headboard was also tan, I thought I would try a new furniture placement so that we didn't need the headboard. Arranging the bed under the window actually made the room twice as big and  made the bed more of a focal point.

The room feels incredibly more relaxing and luxurious. The blue is very calming and still pops against the tan. Where our antique dresser once disappeared against a dark wall, it now   stands out in all its detailed charm. Now, I actually love being in this room. The only part of this room I am still working on is the big long blank wall. Any suggestions?
